HISTORY:
The 1967 Topps Giant Stand Ups Baseball cards were an
uncirculated test issue by Topps, thus making these cards
extremely extremely rare and unbelievably expensive. It is
stated that there are less than a hundred '67 Giant Stand-Ups in
the entire collecting world. Only at a rare auction is where you
might be lucky enough to find a single piece from this set for
sale. For example, remote auctions have brought in 12 (out of
24) of the test cards for a mere $41,000! A single wrapper
sold for $2500. And the box.... Oh the box..... there is only
one known to exist on the planet and a price cannot be put upon
it.
"ONE . . .
KNOWN .... BOX."
The test issue cards, a whopping 3 1/8" x 5 1/4", were printed
on heavy card stock and die-cutted so that the player's heads
could be punched out of their black backgrounds and stood in the
small bases which were also punched out of the card. There was
also a proof version of the 24 players, which doesn't have the
die cuts .These generally sell for a little less than their
brothers, but if you find one, plan on spending a portion of
your child's college fund to own it.
Also unique to this set was the
instruction sheet which was, in reality, a sticker that would be
used to seal the flaps on the back of the 2 card wax packs.
The 24 card set includes:
Jim Lonborg, Ron Swoboda, Harmon
Killebrew, Roberto Clemente, Don Drysdale, Dean Chance, Orlando
Cepeda, Tim McCarver Rusty Staub, Richie Allen, Catfish Hunter,
Jim Wynn, Pete Rose, Mickey Mantle, Al Kaline, Willie Mays, Hank
Aaron, Carl Yastrzemski, Frank Robinson, Ron Santo, Gary Peters,
Max Alvis, Jim Fregosi, Frank Howard.

What you will receive with this
complete set is:
A)
a beautiful reproduction of the
box. Printed on satin paper backed by poster-board it is rather
exceptional 10.75" x 6.75" x 1.5" in size. The colors are pure
and radiant. A large Mickey Mantle on the top lid, and several
images of a cartooned boy proudly displaying his assembled
collection of Stand Ups on his dresser and shelves. The box is
meant to hold all 24 stand ups.
B) You will get a full
set of 24 cards, printed on satin paper backed by a thick
chipboard. You will have your choice of the Die cut versions or
the proof set without the die cuts. PLEASE NOTE: the die-cutted
card set has the lines for the cuts imprinted on the cards.
Creative Pal adds: "I
myself have not made the actual die cuts as I would need to do
them by hand, and quite honestly I'll be a candidate for
arthritis in the distant future, and I would like to keep that
process at bay for as long as I can. You may wish to make the
cuts yourself and I leave that up to you."
C) Finally, also included
will be 12 reproduction wrappers and 12 stickers to seal the
wrappers. Two cards will be included in each wrapper, but the
wrappers will not be sealed so you may open the packs to
view the cards, and then replace them in the box if this is how you
choose to display them.
Creative Pal adds:
"This reproduction set IS THE CROWN JEWEL in my efforts to bring
back to life the most sought after gum card sets with their
boxes and wrappers, and at a price that should not make grown
men weep.
FEEDBACK FROM
OUR FIRST FEW CUSTOMERS
WOW! I am a long-time Willie Mays collector and my collecting
motto was to never buy "manufactured memorabilia" . I had stuck
to this mantra until I stumbled upon your website over the July
4th weekend. I have been trying to obtain a Mays 1967 stand-up
for many years and I was well aware of the impossibility of ever
obtaining the box or wrappers.
Your reproduction is impeccable. You should be
very proud of your efforts. Please allow me to be a reference
for anyone that is lookingfor one.
I am blown away! Many thanks!
Mike J.

Being an ardent baseball card collector for many years, I have
been searching
for any
'67 Stand Ups. I knew this to be a massively hopeless task, but
I never gave up! To my utter amazement I accidently discovered
this treasure hidden in an unlikely website.
Although this is a repo set , the quality looked so unbelievably
real. I literally gasped with excitement as I order the box with
the complete set of 24 cards plus the wrappers and stickers!
Needless to say, my expectations were far exceeded; money very
well spent. Thanks for the foresight and talent behind this.
Your Biggest Fan,
Albert I.

I dabble in studying the history of baseball. I love the game of
baseball you might say. And one of the best ways to know this
game, American's past time, is by studying the baseball cards
that have been printed over the years. It may amaze you
but almost since the inception of Baseball in the 1860's, there
have been cards of the players.
So I have
seen a few cards you might say but when I acquired the Stand-Ups
created by Creative Pal, of virtually a set never released to
the public, these cards, the box and the wrappers looked so real
I couldn't believe it was a reproduction. That a single artist
has the skill and ability to make this set indistinguishable
from a real one is amazing!
Great Job,
Creative Pal, I hope you can make more special sets in the
future and thank you ...
