CITY
A few more photos of how life is in Lima
as we view a few scenes from
the streets and also view the style of the architecture of the buildings,
there are some buildings which can be 400 or 500 years old that are
still standing and be used in Lima along with many modern buildings as well.

LIMA CITY
Rosario told us that Lima has a lot of rain and cloudy days and when it is sunny
the people all go out and celebrate. Also too, Lima and Peru has had its
share
of earthquakes as well. The last photo shows that taking a bus in Lima
(buses
of all sizes including vans) is the most common way for the people to get around
plus we have many tourists buses as tourism is a big industry in Peru.

TWO CHURCHES WE VISITED
(San Agustin {most of the photos} & San Francisco)
As stated before the influence of the Spanish is strong in Lima. On this
day, our
guide Rosario took us to two churches. The first photo above is our group
preparing
to go into the first Church, San Augstin (the churches are always named after
Saints).
In the second picture above, Rosario is explaining the history of this church.
The next four pictures show scenes from inside the Church. We see the
beauty of the design of the church and many religious symbols linked to
Christianity (Jesus and Mary).
In the 6th photo we also see that the Church kept that head (craneo in
Spanish) of one of their saints or special minister (actually they had two
bone
heads). The last photo is from the Catacombs under San Francisco Church.
According to Rosario, there was a time in Lima, when instead of burying the
dead in a local cementary, they would bury the people under the Church. So
we saw chambers filled with many bones and skulls. According to Des, who
was taking a lot of video on this trip, in one of the chambers, which was filled
mostly with bone skulls, they thought they saw spirit (as Des and his wife
Sylvia are both sensitives) and they heard some kind of sound. We will be
receiving a copy of their video and will look for this reported phenomena.
